The world of work has shifted dramatically over the last year and a half. The pandemic, the “great resignation”, talent shortages, and rising wages are all making it critical for employers to engage their teams in new ways. Engaging our remote employees presents a set of unique challenges that many companies and managers have never encountered. Apprenticeships seeking higher levels of quality and completions may consider nine components for improvement. This session will cover issues such as wage-and-hour, wage payment acts, discrimination laws, hiring practices and recordkeeping practices. What’s true? What’s a myth? Join us in this interactive session to find out. As Mark Twain famously said, “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”
BREAKOUT SESSION 2: DEVELOPING YOUR EXTREME SELF-CARE ROUTINE

Join this fun interactive discussion as we talk about ways to take the best possible care of ourselves. Now more than ever it is so important to keep our energy drains low and our self-care high. You will walk away from this session with awareness of your physical, emotional, and mental energy drains. Coach Sarah will also share ideas for developing your daily, weekly, monthly & annual self-care plan.
KANSAS LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
An overview and update of the 2021 Legislative Session focused on legislation impacting the business community and specifically the HR profession. Additionally, discussion will entail what issues are being discussed for the 2022 Legislative Session. Finally, an analysis of the upcoming 2022 elections and discussion of the candidates and their perspective on HR issues.
CLOSING KEYNOTE: RECOGNIZING AND RESPONDING TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN THE WORKPLACE

Human trafficking impacts people of all ages, genders and professions. It is also commonly overlooked due to social stigmas, lack of knowledge, or simply because people are not expecting to encounter this heinous crime. This presentation is geared toward educating and empowering employees as advocates against human trafficking among those they serve.
